On behalf of the congregation at Christ Community Baptist Church, welcome to our site. CCBC exists for the glory of God and the eternal good of our neighbors. We are a group of people from various walks of life who have come to know the kind redeeming grace of our Lord Jesus, and we seek to exalt Him and make Him known in our community.

Christ Community Baptist Church began in April of 2022. Our pastors were ordained and “sent out” by the elders at Lakeville Baptist Church in Salyersville, KY. CCBC began with 8 people meeting at Prestonsburg High School every Sunday. Now, by God’s kind providence, Christ Community is growing and has a facility of their own for gospel ministry.

Five Reasons Why CCBC Exists

1. Lost people still exist in eastern Kentucky and we believe church planting (new church efforts) are the best way to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) as the local church is the primary method of gospel advancement and personal discipleship. As of 2020, only 10.3% of Floyd countians attend any church on a given Sunday (KBC Lostness Indicator).
2. CCBC, and other church plants and revitalization labors, are the answer to the prayer in Matthew 9:37-38: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
3. There is a need for greater gospel clarity and proclamation in eastern Kentucky.
4. There is a need, because faith comes from hearing (Romans 10:17), for verse by verse and book by book preaching and teaching.
5. There is a need for churches in eastern Kentucky that enthusiastically embrace the sovereignty of God’s grace in saving sinners.
